Most running apps are built for people who already love running. joggy is built for everyone trying to.
I'm Joey. I'm not an elite runner. I'm not a coach with a stable of Boston qualifiers. I'm a hobby jogger, the person the running industry politely ignores while it sells carbon plates and lactate-threshold dashboards to people who already run fifty miles a week.
joggy exists because of a gap I kept falling into. On one side there are apps so simple they hand you a PDF and wish you luck, and when your week falls apart (it will), the PDF doesn't care. On the other side there are training ecosystems so serious that opening them feels like clocking in for a second job. Heart-rate zones, readiness scores, guilt.
Somewhere between "too simple to help" and "too serious to enjoy," there's a coach who just adapts to your actual life. That's joggy.
The coaching engine is real: VDOT-based plans of the kind coaches have used for decades, paces tuned to you, weeks that rebuild themselves around the runs you actually did. The voice on top of it is a turtle, because the turtle had the right race strategy all along: show up, keep moving, don't let the flashy fast thing psych you out. (The rabbit's here too. He's for speed days. He naps a lot.)
The honesty bit
You may notice some things missing from this website: glowing testimonials, star ratings, "loved by 100,000 runners" banners. That's because joggy is brand new. As I write this, it has a dozen beta testers and a few hundred planned workouts in its database. That's the whole empire.
No fake testimonials, no invented star ratings. We'd rather earn your trust than fabricate it.
When real runners say real things about joggy, you'll read them here, with their permission, exactly as they said them. Until then, the most honest thing I can offer is the app itself: it's free to try, the first 14 days include everything, and no credit card is involved. If it doesn't make running feel lighter, delete it. No hard feelings, and I mean that.
What joggy believes
Consistency beats intensity. The runner who shows up three times a week for a year beats the runner who trains like a maniac for three weeks and quits. Every design decision in joggy flows from this.
The plan should bend, not the runner. Kids get sick, work explodes, sleep goes sideways. A plan that can't absorb real life isn't a plan. It's a guilt subscription.
Data should end in a sentence. You don't need seventeen charts. You need someone who read them and can tell you, kindly, what to do tomorrow.
Slow is a feature. Most hobby joggers run their easy days too fast and their hard days too easy. A coach whose mascot is a turtle has no ego about pace, and that's exactly why it works.
That's it. That's the manifesto. If any of it sounds like the kind of running you want to do, the turtle's ready when you are.
